Bio

Richard J. Heichemer is a senior corporate business development executive with more than 25 years of experience across clinical diagnostics, precision medicine, bio/pharma, and medical devices. He is known for building and leading companion diagnostics and business development functions that pair deep scientific fluency with commercial and financial rigor, and for structuring and closing complex, multi-party life sciences deals.

Over his career, primarily at Quest Diagnostics, he negotiated and managed more than 70 transactions — commercial and academic licensing, precision medicine/companion diagnostics collaborations, bio/pharma development agreements, and M&A due diligence — including the first-to-market companion diagnostic launches for Keytruda and Opdivo. He currently consults for life sciences and biotech companies on business development, licensing, and strategic partnerships.

Rich holds an MBA in Finance from NYU and an MS in Microbiology from the University of Rochester.
